- Promoted to Director of Networking upon
resignation of previous director, previous duties continue. Additional duties as director
include management of 2 to 3 employees and responsibility for complete Networking /
Telecommunications infrastructure of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation including all Tribal
and Enterprise operations. Infrastructure includes 200+ local Windows NT/9x
workstations,
nine (9) regional offices across United States, over eight (8) physical locations linked
via fiber, ISDN, or analog dialup connections.
- Also responsible for multiple Windows NT 4.0 Servers, T1
Internet connection, commercial ISDN connection, 400+ user Internet Service Provider
(CPN-Net.com), Microsoft Exchange 5.0 mail server across three servers, MS Proxy Firewall
and all data security and data disaster planning and implementation.
- Provide guidance for all computer and technology purchases and
plans and both landline and wireless telecommunications operations as a whole. Provided
division of duties and cross training plans within Networking to better serve Tribal
functions and CPN-Net customers.

software applications for the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Applications include Microsoft
Windows 95, Windows NT Workstation and Server, Office 95 and Office 97 Professional (Word,
Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook), Platinum Accounting Software, Tribal store Point
of Sale (Microbiz) and custom options for store management, and many other software and
computer related functions.
- Also responsible for WebMaster duties for
various Tribal endeavors including public web site
and others. Additional duties include responsibility for daily operation in absence of
Director of Networking and supervision of one employee providing software/CPN-Net support.
Additional Projects include;
- Responsible for creation and ongoing maintenance and design of
CPN Intranet web site providing internal computer support topics, links
and problem submission forms tracking and process.
- Developed small applications in Visual Basic for automating
ACH conversions and Platinum company backups.
- Developed Windows 95 Basics and Email using Outlook 97
training for in-house operations including online, print and classroom presentations.
- Responsible for Implementation of CPN-Net.com,
an Internet Service Provider subsidiary of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Includes ground
up build of web site and services utilizing Microsoft NT 4.0 and Internet Information
Server. Developed billing and user tracking database in Access97, provided remote access
via web site to said database. Developed policies and procedures, rate structures, and all
areas of operation for the ISP. Developed Active Server Pages (ASP) based start page for
CPN-Net customers
allowing custom news headlines based on web visitor selections.
- Responsible for ground up implementation and continuous
management of additional web sites including KGFF.com, ORRAgency.com, TecumsehOK.com,
OK7Habits.org and others. This process includes
system setup, IP assignments and management, Internic DNS registrations, DNS setup using
both BIND and Microsoft DNS services, ground up design of web site utilizing FrontPage
97/98 and ASP extensions.
- Utilized Active Server Page (ASP) technology and VBScripting
to provide database connectivity and expanded and enhanced web site operations on many of
the above web sites. Items include database sourced links page, calendar of events, news,
and other dynamic web site additions.
- Additional duties included utilizing ARCView 3.x for spatial
analysis of CPN and Native American population densities and roads analysis needs.
- Designed, developed and maintain web sites for www.CPN-Net.com Additional duties include overall
backup support for 150+ PCs running a mix of Windows 95, NT Workstation, and NT Server.
