Ken loved his family and adorded his Grandson. Daughter Karen made sure that in 1996 and 1997 the whole family was able to spend the Christmas holiday together by helping fly her siblings in to Shawnee. Daughter Kathyrn had just moved back to Shawnee in October of 1997 and was glad to be back 'home'.

Paul has turned into an avid chess player following Ken's love of the game.
Ken expressed his 'concern' about Paul beating at his 'own' game at Christmas '97 but commented "What better person to 'pass the torch' to than his own son." Paul continues to play in his current resident city of Los Alamitos California.
