Rear Control Arm Break Down
Breaking down the rear control arms wasn’t too bad with the 20ton press, some properly sized exhaust tubing, and some penetrating spray. I use the “C” shaped piece in the picture below inside the arm to keep from collapsing it pressing the old arm out. Worked well.
I couldn’t find bushings for the panhard bar and after searching for some time decided to use some generic Energy Suspension bushings. The center section was too small for the factory bolts however and too short anyhow.
The solution was to use the poly bushings with the factory centers which worked out fine after getting the old ones apart. Below you can see the issues and differences. There will be some extra space in the middle but I can’t see that being a problem. Just a good grease reservoir in my opinion.
